He has an in-depth knowledge of high-performance thermal insulation materials and technologies, gained in the aerospace sector. A pioneer in innovative materials for asbestos replacement since the 1980s, he has extensive experience in insulation solutions for the automotive industry, the military navy, and power plants. Founder of the company in 1986, he has led the development of textile expansion joints, thermal and acoustic insulation systems, promoting international expansion with branches in Switzerland, Spain, Germany, and China.

Quality and safety at the service of business progress

Innovation has meant for NEW COMPONIT to focus on quality since the beginning of its history.

In 1992, after a long and hard preparation work, NEW COMPONIT was one of the first small companies in Italy to be certified ISO 9001, accrediting itself with Certificate no. 160, received by CERTIQUALITY.

The preparation was the introduction to a first experience of renewal of the whole business process and the certification opened the way for the qualification at important multinational companies such as General Electric and ENEL in Italy.

NEW COMPONIT helped ENEL to eliminate completely the use of asbestos as insulation material and adopt MIL standard for the choice of alternative material, as already done by US Navy.

Since then, the turbines of thermoelectric plants (steam and gas) have been insulated by means of prefabricated jackets, which perfectly suit the turbine shape and dimension.

These jackets were and still are, made of fiberglass fabrics and felts, that New Componit, faithful to its original mission “textile solutions for heat control”, has hardly looked for all over the world, focusing on products that present lower intrinsic risks and that are classified as non-hazardous to health and with a very low environmental impact.

The commitment for quality has gone in step with the one for safety.

The materials suitable to be used for applications at high temperatures are mainly made of silico-aluminous fibers and require a particular attention and caution to be handled.

NEW COMPONIT has planned its production process of insulation jackets and fabric expansion joints, including particular attention to prevention and protection of the working environment, as well as the use of all necessary defenses to reduce the impact on the workers, who manipulate these materials.

The whole company is equipped with fiber vacuum and air disinfection systems, that ensure a healthy environment.

Technological progress’s New Componit

Innovation has been New Componit hallmark since its establishment 35 years ago.

Innovation with textile solution for heat control. Until then, asbestos was the most used material for the insulation at high temperature. It has been used for decades, but in seventies came to light the serious problems it caused, by inhalation, to human health.

New Componit was born with the idea of replacing asbestos in industrial applications, especially in its textile form. Since then New Componit has had the mission of proposing textile solutions for heat and temperature control.

Since, these are solutions that improve the quality of the environment and the impact on health, New Componit can be considered an “ante litteram” environmental company and not surprisingly, it immediately chose “green” as its corporate colour.

New Componit with its technical department designs the products which then produces in its factory and sells all over the world. In the modern world the changes are continuous and fast and the need of innovation has always affected New Cpmponit even unexpectedly; the company has always tried to play ahead, launching itself in new challenges.

The environmental issue, with the energy saving and CO₂ reduction plan, the fight against pollution, the increased attention to worker safety, require to keep up and have completely changed the approach to thermal insulation problems. For this need to insulate anything more and better, New Componit has decided to revamp the line of insulating jackets, alongside the one of fabric expansion joints.

These jackets, made of glass fiber fabric, are versatile and can be used in a lot of plants, where there are valves, flanged couplings, pumps, filters and many other small elements, which are neglected by traditional insulation but that can be points of heat dispersion and therefore of energy.
